A baby shower or godh bharai is usually a daytime family event, held in the living room, a society clubhouse or a small hall, with the mother-to-be seated in front of one decorated wall. Baby shower design styles

Balloon arch with baby foils

The simplest and most flexible option. A 150 to 200-balloon arch frames a Baby Shower or Oh Baby foil, with baby feet or bottle foils on balloon pillars at the sides. Pastel and gender-neutral setups

Many families prefer not to lean pink or blue before the baby arrives. The Pink or Blue Decoration (₹2,799) mixes both colours around a backdrop of 150 balloons with baby cartoon foils and a moon foil. The Baby Shower Pastel Decor (₹3,299) adds Boy and Girl letter foils, four baby foils and 50 balloons on the ceiling and walls, so the room feels decorated beyond the backdrop.

Ring frame and neon sign

A 7 ft ring covered in balloons gives the mother-to-be a frame to sit in for photos. The Trending Baby Shower Decoration (₹3,999) pairs a 200-balloon ring with an Oh Baby neon sign and artificial flowers, and the Baby Shower Decoration design (₹5,499) uses 250 balloons, a Baby Shower neon light and a baby box filled with balloons. Printed or cloth backdrop

The largest designs start with a backdrop panel. For a family gathering of 15 to 30 people in a living room, the ₹2,999 to ₹3,999 range covers a full backdrop. If the function is in a clubhouse or hall with more guests, move up to a ring or printed backdrop so the decoration doesn't look small in a larger room.

Leave space for the rituals

Godh bharai, seemantham, valaikappu and other traditional ceremonies have their own steps: the mother-to-be is seated, elders perform the rituals, and there are plates of fruit, sweets and gifts. Put the backdrop behind where she will sit, and keep the area in front of it clear for the ceremony and for elders to move around. Tell us in the booking notes where the seat will go so the decorator builds the arch around it rather than across a doorway.

Book a slot that finishes before guests arrive

Most baby showers happen in the late morning or afternoon. Time slots run in one-hour windows from 8 AM to midnight, and the decorator arrives during the slot you pick. Choose a slot that ends well before the first guests are expected; if the ceremony starts at noon, a morning slot gives the most margin.

Clubhouses and halls

If the venue is a society clubhouse or a hall, check that outside decoration is allowed and that your booking of the space starts early enough for the setup. Share the venue name and the contact person with us. Some clubhouses do not allow tape on certain walls; ask the manager before the day.

Getting the backdrop right for photos

Almost every photo at a baby shower is taken in front of the backdrop: the mother-to-be alone, with her partner, with each set of relatives and with friends. A few choices make those photos better.

• Face the light. Put the backdrop on a wall that faces a window or the room's main light, not on the wall with the window behind it. Photos taken against a bright window come out dark.
• Leave room in front. Keep at least six to eight feet clear in front of the backdrop so the photographer can step back and fit a group of eight or ten people.
• Plan the seat height. If the mother-to-be will sit on a chair or a low diwan, the foil or banner should sit just above her head in the photo, not hidden behind her. Mention the seat in the booking notes.
• Keep the gift table to one side. Gifts, plates and trays pile up quickly. A table beside the backdrop, rather than in front of it, keeps the photos clean.

Small living room or large hall?

In a flat, the backdrop wall is often also the wall with the TV or a sofa. Move the sofa out for the day if you can, or choose a design without floor bunches so the seating can stay close. A 150 to 200-balloon arch fits most living-room walls.

In a hall or clubhouse, the same arch can look small because the ceiling is higher and the room wider. There, a ring frame, a neon sign or a printed backdrop fills more of the view, and extra balloon bunches around the room help it feel decorated beyond one corner. • Pastels (mint, peach, lilac, baby pink and baby blue) suit daytime photos and most interiors.
• White and gold looks formal and works well for a clubhouse or a traditional ceremony.
• Pink and blue together keeps the guessing fun and suits families who like games at the shower.
• Foils: Oh Baby, Baby Shower, baby feet, bottle and moon foils appear across the designs. If you want a particular one, mention it and we'll confirm what can be changed for your design.

How to book

1. Open a design and check its "Package Includes" list.
2. Select your city, the date and a one-hour time slot. Same-day slots start at least two hours after you book.
3. Pay a 30% advance or the full amount online to confirm. We don't offer cash on delivery.
4. Add the mother-to-be's name, the ceremony time and where she will be seated in the booking notes.

You can cancel within 24 hours of placing the order for a full refund; after that a cancellation fee may apply, and customised items such as printed backdrops are non-refundable. See the cancellation policy for details.

On the day

• Someone should be at the venue at the start of the slot; the decorator waits up to 30 minutes.
• Keep a stool or ladder available if the design has ceiling balloons.
• Designs with fairy lights or a neon sign need a power socket near the backdrop.
• Keep the decorated area out of direct sun. On a terrace or lawn, afternoon sun and wind shorten the life of the balloons.
• Tell us within two hours of completion if anything needs attention. Product photos show the finished design; the real setup can vary slightly in colour or arrangement.

After the baby shower
