Kids Theme Decoration

Kids theme birthday decoration, by character and by budget

For a child's birthday, the theme usually decides everything else: the colours, the foils, the cake, even the return gifts. Funtook has 69 kids theme designs, priced from ₹1,399 to ₹8,500, covering characters children ask for by name (Cocomelon, Baby Shark, Peppa Pig, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Spiderman, Batman, Boss Baby, Frozen, Barbie, Shinchan, Tom and Jerry, Wednesday) and broader themes such as jungle safari, mermaid, unicorn, dinosaur, butterfly, cars, football and rainbow. Every design lists the balloons, foils and backdrop it includes, so you can compare two themes line by line.

This page explains how theme designs are built, what each price level adds, and how to pick a theme your child will still love on the day.

How a theme design is built

Nearly every kids theme design has the same three parts, and the price depends on how big each part is.

1. The balloon structure

An arch of 170 to 250 balloons around the birthday wall, a ring frame of about 7 feet, or a pair of balloon pillars. The colours follow the theme: blue and yellow for Baby Shark, green and brown for jungle, pastel pink and lilac for unicorn, red and blue for Spiderman.

2. The character foils

Foil balloons shaped like the characters carry the theme. A "set foil" is a group of character foils, for example the Baby Shark family or a set of jungle animals. Age foils and name letter foils sit on top of balloon pillars or on the arch.

3. The backdrop (in larger designs)

From about ₹4,000, designs add a printed flex backdrop made for your child, usually 5 x 5, 6 x 6 or 7 x 4 feet, with the character artwork, the child's name and the age. Some add cutouts, such as the two dinosaur cutouts in the Theme Dinosaur Birthday Decor (₹8,500), or a cake table with stands in the Premium Cocomelon Birthday Setup (₹8,499).

Kids theme decoration prices

At the entry level, the Cartoon Theme Birthday Decoration (₹1,399) and Simple Spiderman Theme Decoration (₹1,499) suit a small room or a family-only party. Half of all theme designs fall between ₹2,000 and ₹2,999, which is where a full arch with the character foils fits a living-room wall, for example Cocomelon Theme Birthday Decoration (₹2,499) or Mickey Theme Birthday Decoration (₹2,599).

Choosing the theme

Ask your child, then ask again a week later

Children change favourites quickly. If your child is old enough to choose, ask twice, a week apart. If the answer is the same, that's the theme. For a first or second birthday, parents usually choose based on the songs and shows the baby watches most.

Think about the guests

If the party has children of different ages, a broad theme such as jungle safari, rainbow or butterfly works for everyone, while a very specific character may not interest older cousins. Superhero and football themes suit older boys; Frozen, Barbie and mermaid suit girls who love princesses; unicorn and rainbow are popular with both.

Check the wall before choosing a backdrop

Printed backdrops need a flat, clear wall at least as wide as the print, usually 6 to 8 feet including the arch around it. If the wall has a switchboard, AC or window in the middle, a balloon-only arch design is easier to fit than a printed backdrop.

Decide on the name and age early

Name letter foils, age foils and printed backdrops all need the details before the day. Write the name exactly as it should appear, and the age, in the booking notes. Printed items are made for your child and are non-refundable, so check the spelling before paying.

First birthday decoration

The first birthday is the most photographed and usually the biggest party of the early years. Parents often want the baby's name on a backdrop and a large number one. Designs with a printed backdrop, such as the Magical Theme Birthday Decoration (₹4,999) with a 6 x 6 ft customised backdrop and 250-balloon ring, or the Premium Butterfly Kids Birthday Decoration (₹3,499) with ONE foils, cover that. Keep the cake table in front of the backdrop, and keep loose floor balloons away from where a crawling baby will be.

Safety around small children

• Burst balloon pieces are a choking hazard for small children. Pick them up as soon as a balloon pops, and clear floor balloons after the party.
• Keep the arch and pillars against the wall, away from where children will run.
• Neon signs and fairy lights need a power socket; keep the wire along the wall rather than across the floor.
• Props other than balloons, such as neon signs, ring frames and stands, are provided for the event and collected afterwards, so don't let children climb on them.

Booking and the day of the party

Choose a design, pick your city, date and one-hour slot (slots run from 8 AM to midnight; same-day slots start at least two hours after you book) and pay a 30% advance or the full amount online. We don't offer cash on delivery. You can cancel within 24 hours of placing the order for a full refund; after that a cancellation fee may apply, and printed items are non-refundable. See the cancellation policy.

On the day, have someone at the venue at the start of the slot (the decorator waits up to 30 minutes), keep a stool or ladder handy, and make sure clubhouses or halls know a decorator is coming. Tell us within two hours of completion if anything needs attention. Product photos show the finished design; the real setup can vary slightly in colour or arrangement.
