Newborn welcome decoration, ready before you bring the baby home

Bringing a baby home from the hospital is one of the few celebrations where the family can't do the decorating themselves. Parents are busy with the discharge, grandparents are on their way, and nobody wants to be blowing up balloons that morning. Funtook has 62 newborn designs, priced from ₹1,499 to ₹8,499, for homecomings, naming and cradle ceremonies and Annaprashan. A decorator sets up the design at your home while you are still at the hospital, using the access you arrange.

This guide explains the designs, what each price level includes, how to time the setup around a discharge that may shift, and how to keep the decoration comfortable for a newborn.

Designs by occasion

Baby boy homecoming

There are 30 designs in the baby boy collection. The simpler ones use ceiling balloons, a Welcome Baby foil and a baby boy foil set, such as the Simple Baby Boy Welcome Decoration (₹1,799). Arch designs add frill curtains and bottle or cartoon foils, for example the Homecoming Baby Boy Welcome Decoration (₹2,999). At the top end, the Welcome Baby Flower Balloon Setup (₹5,999) decorates the front door with an L-shaped gate and cloth design, and the Customized Baby Boy Welcome Decor (₹8,499) is built on an 8 x 8 ft customised backdrop with a teddy bear cutout.

Baby girl homecoming

The baby girl collection has 23 designs in pink, pastel and white. The entry design, Welcome Baby Decoration Home (₹1,499), is 50 ceiling balloons, 30 floor balloons and a Welcome Baby foil. Mid-range designs add frill curtains and a girl foil, such as the Welcome Baby Girl Home Decoration (₹2,899). Several include a flower pathway leading to the door, for example the Welcome Princess Balloon Decoration (₹3,499) with an 8 ft pathway and the Baby Love Welcome Decor (₹4,500) with a 10 ft pathway.

Twins

Two designs are made for twins: the Twins Baby Welcome Decoration (₹2,499), with balloon pillars and name foils, and the Twins Born Baby Decoration (₹2,999), with a Twins Baby foil, string lights and two balloon pillars.

Naming ceremony and name reveal

For a naming ceremony, a board with the baby's name is usually the centrepiece. The Name Revealing Decor Ring (₹4,999) has a customised 3 x 3 ft board inside a 200-balloon arch. The Cradle Ceremony Decoration (₹5,499) uses a customised 6 x 6 ft flex backdrop with a Krishna foil set.

Annaprashan

Annaprashan, the baby's first rice meal, gets its own collection of five designs, from the Annaprashan Home Decor (₹2,699) with a ceremony card banner and paper fans, to the Annaprashan Rice Ceremony (₹5,499) with an 8 x 8 ft white backdrop, a customised board and lights.

Newborn decoration prices

Half of all designs sit between ₹2,000 and ₹2,999. That band gives you a proper arch on the wall facing the door, which is where the first photos with the baby are taken.

Timing the setup around the discharge

Plan for the time to move

Discharge times change often: a doctor's round runs late, a bill takes longer, or the baby needs one more check. Book the slot that ends an hour or two before your expected arrival rather than one that ends just as you leave the hospital. If the discharge moves to another day, call us as early as possible to discuss rescheduling.

Arrange who opens the door

Someone must let the decorator in at the start of the slot: a grandparent, a relative, a neighbour with a key or the building's security desk. The decorator can wait up to 30 minutes. Give that person our booking details and the decorator's arrival slot.

Same-day bookings

If the discharge is confirmed only that morning, same-day decoration is available. Slots start at least two hours after you book, and time slots run from 8 AM to midnight.

Keeping the decoration comfortable for a newborn

• Decorate the living room, not the nursery. Keep the room where the baby will sleep calm and uncluttered.
• Avoid strong scents. Artificial flowers and balloons don't add fragrance. If a design includes real rose petals, keep them away from the baby's bed.
• Clear loose balloons afterwards. Floor balloons are for the arrival and the photos. Remove loose or burst balloons once the celebration is over so nothing small ends up near the baby.
• Keep lights soft. Fairy lights and neon signs look good in photos; switch them off when the baby is sleeping nearby.

What the homecoming day looks like

The day before: confirm the discharge estimate with the hospital, book the slot and share the house key arrangement. Add the baby's name in the notes if the design has a name foil or board.

Morning: the person at home clears the wall facing the entrance, keeps a stool ready for the ceiling balloons and moves anything fragile out of the way. If the discharge estimate changes, call us straight away.

During the slot: the decorator sets up the design exactly as listed on the product page. The person at home checks it once it's done; tell us within two hours if something needs fixing.

Arrival: many families do a small aarti at the door, and the mother steps in with the baby for the first photos in front of the arch. Keep the path from the door to the arch clear for the pram or car seat, and keep the room cool so the ceiling balloons stay up.

Photos with the family

The first photos at home often include both sets of grandparents, so choose a wall wide enough for six or seven people to stand in front of it. An arch of 200 balloons on the wall facing the door gives the best result: guests see it as they arrive, and it frames the family group. If the wall has a window, face the arch towards the light rather than having the window behind it.

Choosing colours

Blue with white and silver is the usual choice for boys; pink, peach and white for girls. If you prefer not to follow either, pastels with gold, or white with silver chrome, suit both. Foils do most of the work in newborn designs: Welcome Baby, It's a Boy or It's a Girl, bottle, feet, moon and star foils. Tell us your preference at booking and we'll confirm what can be changed for your chosen design.

Homecoming, naming ceremony or both?

Some families combine the homecoming with a small naming ceremony a few days later and want one decoration for both. Balloons last best for the first day or two indoors, so a single setup rarely looks fresh a week later. A practical approach is a simple homecoming design on the day of arrival, then a backdrop design with a name board, such as the Name Revealing Decor Ring, for the ceremony. If both are within two or three days, choose one arch design and book it for the ceremony day, when more guests will see it.

How to book

Open a design and check the "Package Includes" list. Select your city, date and one-hour slot, and pay a 30% advance or the full amount online to confirm. We don't offer cash on delivery. In the notes, add the baby's name if the design has a name foil or board, the expected arrival time, and the name and phone number of the person opening the door.

You can cancel within 24 hours of placing the order for a full refund; after that a cancellation fee may apply, and customised items such as printed boards are non-refundable. The cancellation policy has the full terms. On the day, keep a stool or ladder available for ceiling balloons, and tell us within two hours of completion if something needs attention. Product photos show the finished design; the real setup can vary slightly in colour or arrangement.
