Birthday decoration at home, planned around the room you have

Most birthday decoration requests we get start the same way: someone has a date, a room and a rough budget, and wants the place to look like a celebration when the birthday person walks in. Funtook lists 77 birthday designs, priced from ₹1,299 to ₹7,999, and every one of them shows exactly what goes into it: how many balloons, which foils, whether there is a banner, lights or a backdrop. You pick the design, choose a date and a one-hour time slot, and our decorator sets it up at your home, hotel room, office or party hall.

The three kinds of birthday setup

Almost every birthday design falls into one of three layouts. Knowing which one you want narrows 77 options down to a handful.

1. Room surprise: balloons on the ceiling and floor

A room surprise fills a bedroom or hotel room rather than one wall. Balloons are stuck across the ceiling with ribbons hanging down, more balloons are spread on the floor or bed, and a Happy Birthday foil banner goes on the wall. The Simple Birthday Ceiling Decor at ₹1,299 is the most basic version: 30 balloons on the ceiling, 30 on the floor and a Happy Birthday foil. Higher up, designs add name or age foils, heart foils, rose petals on the bed or a string of printed photographs. The Hotel Room Surprise Birthday Decoration (₹2,999) adds 250 grams of rose petals on the bed, and the Birthday Party Decorations at Home design (₹2,499) includes 12 customised string photos.

2. Balloon arch or ring on one wall

This is the classic party backdrop: an arch of 150 to 250 balloons around a Happy Birthday banner, with an age foil, frill curtains and a few balloon bunches on the floor. It turns one wall into the spot where the cake is cut and every photo is taken. The Simple Balloon Arch for Birthday starts at ₹1,499 with 150 balloons; most arch designs sit between ₹1,799 and ₹2,999.

A ring setup replaces the arch with a circular frame of about 200 to 300 balloons, often with a Happy Birthday neon light in the middle. Rings photograph well because the birthday person stands inside the frame. The Premium Birthday Ring Decor (₹3,999) and Birthday Decoration Ring Home (₹3,999) are typical examples.

3. Printed or sequin backdrop

The largest designs start with a backdrop panel: a 6 x 6 ft golden sequin wall, a customised printed flex, or a balloon wall of around 350 balloons. Balloons, flowers and a neon sign are then built around it. These run from ₹4,999 to ₹7,999, for example the Balloon Wall Birthday Backdrop (₹4,999), Surprise Birthday Decoration for Husband with a golden sequin backdrop (₹6,499), and the Premium Birthday Sequence Decor (₹7,999). They make sense when you expect a lot of guests or want a proper photo wall for a milestone birthday.

What each price level gets you

Prices on Funtook are fixed per design, so the easiest way to compare is by band. The numbers below are counts of the birthday designs currently listed.

A useful rule: if your budget is under ₹2,000, choose between a ceiling-and-floor room design and a simple arch. From ₹2,000 you can have both an arch and room balloons, and above ₹3,500 the designs start adding lit elements such as neon signs and fairy lights behind the balloons.

How to choose the right design

Measure the wall, not the room

An arch or ring needs a clear wall roughly 7 to 8 feet wide, with no switchboard, AC unit or cupboard in the middle. If the only free wall has a window, a room surprise will look better than an arch squeezed around the frame. For ring designs, check that the ceiling height leaves room for a 7 ft frame.

Think about who is in the photos

For a partner's birthday, most people want a romantic room: heart foils, a Love foil, rose petals and fairy lights. The Romantic Decor for Birthday (₹1,999) and Romantic Surprise Decoration (₹2,499) are built that way. For a family party with grandparents, a bright arch with the name and age in foil letters gives everyone one place to stand for group photos. Pick colours that suit the room

Black and gold or black and silver work well in rooms with white or grey walls, for example the Black Gold Birthday Decoration Arch (₹2,399) and Trendy Black Silver Birthday Decor (₹1,799). Decide on name and age early

Name letter foils and age foils are part of many designs. Spell the name exactly as you want it in the booking notes, and mention the age, so the right foils come with the decorator. Designs with a printed backdrop need these details earlier, because the print is made for your party.

Milestone birthdays

A first birthday, an 18th, a 25th, a 50th or a 60th usually brings more guests and more photos, so it is worth moving up one band. For a first birthday, pastel arches with the baby's name, or a character theme from our kids theme collection, are the common choice. For a 50th or 60th birthday where elders will sit near the backdrop, choose a wall arch rather than a room full of floor balloons, so the path to the seating stays clear. How booking works

1. Choose a design. Open the product page and check the "Package Includes" list. What is listed is what the decorator brings.
2. Pick your city, date and time slot. Slots run in one-hour windows from 8 AM to midnight. For the same day, slots start at least two hours after you book.
3. Pay to confirm. Pay a 30% advance or the full amount online. We don't offer cash on delivery.
4. Add notes. Name, age, colour preference and who will open the door go in the booking notes.

Cancellation terms are on the cancellation policy page. In short, cancelling within 24 hours of booking gets a full refund, and customised items such as name banners are non-refundable once made.

What to have ready on the day

• Access. Someone should be at the venue at the start of your slot. The decorator can wait up to 30 minutes; beyond that the booking may be cancelled.
• Permissions. Hotels, clubhouses and some societies need to be told that a decorator is coming. Share the booking name and room number with the front desk.
• A stool or ladder. Ceiling balloons need something to stand on. Keep one ready if you have it.
• A clear wall and a power point. Designs with fairy lights or a neon sign need a socket nearby.
• Keep the balloons out of the sun. Balloons last best indoors, away from direct sunlight and heat. Props other than balloons, such as neon signs, metal ring frames and stands, are provided for the event and collected afterwards.

If something isn't right after the setup, tell us within two hours of completion so we can look at it. Photos on the site show the finished design; the real setup can differ slightly in colour or arrangement depending on the room and material availability.
