Birthday Decoration in Hyderabad

Birthday Decoration in Hyderabad, Wherever the Party Is

Hyderabad celebrates birthdays in two very different ways. In the gated communities of Gachibowli, Kondapur and Kokapet, a birthday is a weekday-evening surprise after work or a Saturday party in the society clubhouse with colleagues and neighbours. In the older parts of the city, in Secunderabad, Dilsukhnagar, Mehdipatnam or the lanes around Himayatnagar, it is a family affair, with grandparents, cousins and a first birthday that is almost as big as a wedding. Funtook's birthday decoration in Hyderabad is designed to fit both: you pick a design online, choose a date and time slot, and our decorators arrive with everything and set up before your guests do.

Birthday designs in our catalogue cost ₹1,299 to ₹7,999. A simple ceiling-balloon room surprise starts at ₹1,299, balloon arches and theme walls sit in the middle, and premium sequin and ring backdrops for milestone birthdays reach ₹7,999. Each design page lists exactly what is included: balloon count and colours, banners, lights and props.

Birthday Setups and When to Choose Each

Room surprise

The quickest way to make someone's day. Helium balloons on the ceiling, a scatter on the floor, a foil "Happy Birthday" and fairy lights, set up while the birthday person is out. In a city where many couples work in the IT corridor and get home late, this is the most booked birthday decoration in Hyderabad. Start with designs such as the Simple Birthday Ceiling Decor (₹1,299) or the Surprise Birthday Room Decoration (₹1,699), or browse all room surprise designs.

Balloon arch and backdrop

For a party with guests, you need a place for the cake and the photos. A half arch around a backdrop does both. The Premium Birthday Arch Setup (₹2,299) and the Elegant Birthday Arch Decor (₹2,999) fit a living room or a clubhouse corner.

Premium birthday decor

For the 18th, 21st, 25th, 30th, 40th or 50th, the premium birthday decors use organic balloon garlands, chrome and pastel palettes, ring or sequin backdrops and marquee-style numbers. The Premium Birthday Ring Decor (₹3,999) and the Premium Birthday Sequence Decor (₹7,999) are made to be the photo wall of the evening.

Kids birthday

Bright colours, cartoon cut-outs and space for games. For simple kids setups see kids special. If your child wants a character theme such as Cocomelon, Baby Shark, Frozen or Spiderman, go to kids theme decoration in Hyderabad.

Birthday Decoration Prices in Hyderabad

Prices are from the live Funtook catalogue in September 2026 and are what you pay for a normal home address in Hyderabad.

Area by Area: What to Know Before You Book

West Hyderabad and the IT corridor

Gachibowli, HITEC City, Madhapur, Kondapur, Kokapet, Narsingi, Nanakramguda, Manikonda, Tellapur and Nallagandla are dominated by large gated communities. Visitor entry is managed through the security desk or an app, and many clubhouses have fixed booking slots. Add the decorator as an expected visitor and plan the setup inside your clubhouse booking time. Evening traffic around Biodiversity Junction, the Mindspace area and the ORR can be heavy, so choose a slot that finishes at least an hour before guests arrive.

Kukatpally, Miyapur, Nizampet and Bachupally

A mix of apartment towers and independent houses, with many young families. Kids birthdays and first birthdays are very common here. Houses often have terraces that suit larger backdrops in the cooler months.

Central Hyderabad

Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Begumpet, Somajiguda, Punjagutta and Ameerpet have bungalows, older apartment buildings and several hotels. Parking can be tight on the smaller roads off Road No. 1 and Road No. 36, so share where the decorator can stop to unload.

Secunderabad and the north

Secunderabad, Sainikpuri, Alwal, Bowenpally, Kompally and AS Rao Nagar have many independent homes and cantonment-area colonies. Some cantonment roads have entry restrictions at certain hours, so give the full address and the nearest main landmark.

East and south

Uppal, Nagole, LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Habsiguda, Tarnaka, Attapur, Mehdipatnam and Tolichowki are busy residential areas with joint families and large family celebrations. Allow extra time for traffic around the LB Nagar and Uppal junctions and near Mehdipatnam.

The First Birthday in a Telugu Family

For many Hyderabad families the first birthday is the biggest celebration of the baby's first year after the naming ceremony. It often includes a morning puja, a new set of clothes, relatives travelling in from Vijayawada, Warangal or Guntur, and a lunch or evening party for a hundred people or more. A few things help the decoration work with the traditions:

• Leave space in front of the backdrop for the puja items, or plan the puja in a separate room.
• Choose a backdrop with the baby's name and a large "1". Families look at these photos for years.
• Keep the setup at a height where a parent can sit with the baby on their lap.
• If the party is in a function hall, check the hall's decoration rules and entry time, because many halls in Hyderabad book several functions a day.

Surprises for Partners, Parents and Friends

A lot of birthday bookings in Hyderabad are surprises planned by one person for another. A few scenarios we see often:

• The late-shift surprise. One partner works an evening or US-time shift. The decoration is set up in the evening, and the room is ready when they walk in at midnight. Choose a slot that still fits your society's visitor hours.
• The parents' birthday. Children working in the city surprise parents who live in an older house in Secunderabad or Dilsukhnagar. A family member at home lets the decorator in.
• The flatmates' surprise. Friends sharing a flat in Madhapur or Kondapur split the cost of a room setup and a cake. Simple designs under ₹2,000 are the usual choice.
• The hotel stay. Couples book a night at a hotel in Gachibowli, HITEC City, Banjara Hills or near the airport at Shamshabad. Ask the hotel first whether an outside decorator can enter the room, and choose a compact design such as the Hotel Room Surprise Birthday Decoration (₹2,999).

Hyderabad Weather and Your Party Plan

• March to May: hot, with afternoons often touching 40°C. Keep balloons indoors and away from west-facing windows. Terrace parties should start after sunset.
• June to September: the monsoon brings sudden, heavy evening showers. Terrace and poolside setups need a covered backup.
• October to February: the best season for outdoor parties. Pleasant evenings suit terraces, lawns and clubhouse decks.
• Festival weeks: Sankranti in January, Ugadi in spring, Bonalu in July and August, Bathukamma and Dussehra in September and October, and Diwali are busy for families and for decorators. Book early if the birthday falls in these weeks.

Gated Community Rules Checklist

• Add the decorator as a visitor on the gate app with the right date and time.
• Check whether the clubhouse allows tape on walls, and whether helium balloons are allowed in the party hall.
• Confirm the service lift or loading area for materials.
• Check if there is a noise curfew for music on the lawn or terrace.
• Ask the facility manager how much time you have after the party to clear the hall.

Milestone Birthdays: 18th, 30th, 40th and 60th

Milestone birthdays get the biggest decorations, and each one has its own crowd:

• 18th and 21st: usually a party with college friends, often in a flat or a rented party space. Black and gold, or neon-style palettes with a big number balloon, are the popular choices.
• 30th: a big one for the many young professionals in the IT corridor. A clubhouse or terrace party with a premium backdrop, a bar-style table and a photo wall is typical. See the Cheers To Be Birthday Decoration (₹2,299) for a playful take.
• 40th and 50th: often a surprise organised by the spouse and children, with family and old friends. Gold and white, or rose gold, with a ring backdrop suits it.
• 60th (Shashtipoorthi): in many Telugu families the 60th birthday is marked with a Shashtipoorthi ceremony, which is closer to a second wedding than a party. The rituals come first; a decorated backdrop for family photos afterwards is where we fit in. Keep the setup separate from the puja area and plan it with the priest's timings.

How Much Space Do You Need?

Birthdays at the Office

Hyderabad's tech parks and offices celebrate a lot of team birthdays. A desk or cabin surprise with ceiling balloons and a banner works well before the team logs in. Most tech parks in HITEC City, the Financial District and Madhapur need the decorator to be registered in advance by the admin or facilities team, and some buildings don't allow helium balloons or tape on glass walls. Share those rules with us when booking. For bigger office events such as launches or festival celebrations, see office and corporate decoration in Hyderabad.

What Our Decorators Bring

Everything needed for the design you booked travels with the decorator: balloons, an electric pump, helium for ceiling designs, stands and frames for backdrops, banners, fairy lights with batteries or plugs, tape, ribbons and props. You don't need to buy anything. What you provide is the space, a power point if the design uses plug-in lights, and a table for the cake.

A Simple Timeline for an Evening Party

1. Morning: clear the wall and the floor where the setup will go, and keep a table ready for the cake.
2. 3 pm to 5 pm: the decorator sets up. Keep the birthday person away if it is a surprise.
3. 5:30 pm: check the setup, names and spellings, and take photos of the empty backdrop in daylight.
4. 7 pm: guests arrive. Switch on the fairy lights and dim the overhead lights for warmer photos.
5. Next day: take down balloons and put popped pieces in the dry waste.

Colours and Details That Photograph Well

• Rose gold and white, or pastel palettes, suit daylight parties and look soft in phone photos.
• Black, gold and silver chrome suit evening parties for adults and milestone birthdays.
• Warm white fairy lights look better on camera than multicolour ones.
• Names printed on boards are made to order and non-refundable. Telugu names often have more than one English spelling, so confirm it exactly.
• If you rent your flat, ask for a free-standing backdrop or tell us before booking so we avoid sticking anything to the paint.
