An evening darshan, then a surprise at home

Say your wife's birthday falls on a Saturday and you live in a flat in Sant Nagar. In the evening you take her to the Rakt Kali temple at Matsyagandha for darshan. Your sister stays back to let the decorator in during the 6 PM slot. When you both return, the living room has the Birthday Decoration at Home setup, the cake is out, and your wife is too surprised to scold you for the secret.

Saharsa birthday tips worth knowing

• Near the station, Saharsa Junction sits at Shankar Chowk on Sabzi Mandi Road. If you live on that side, use it or Thana Chowk as the landmark when you book.
• During the Ganesh festival at Shankar Chowk the area can get crowded in the evenings, so book an earlier slot if your home is close by.
• A hired hall or hotel room needs a word with the manager about entry time and whether tape can go on the walls.
• For a midnight surprise, the last slot runs from 11 PM to 12. Keep the birthday person out of the room for that hour.

What is included

The balloons, backdrop and props that the design page lists, with setup by the decorator. You arrange the cake, snacks and venue.
