A train, a birthday and a lane off Mill Road

Say your younger brother studies in Patna and is coming home for his birthday on an evening train into Khagaria Junction. Your parents live in a lane off Mill Road near Kalibari, so you book the 6 PM slot. The decorator ties a gold and white balloon arch over the drawing-room door and fills one wall with clusters. Your mother keeps the cake and a plate of samosas ready, and when he walks in with his bag, the whole family is standing under the arch.

Balloon tips for homes in Khagaria

• Khagaria sits among rivers, and some mohallas hold water after heavy rain. In the monsoon, tell us a dry way to your door when you book.
• Give the decorator a landmark everyone knows, such as Rajendra Chowk, Sagarmal Chowk or the Kalibari side of Station Road.
• If a guest is arriving at Khagaria Junction, choose a slot that ends an hour before the train is due, so nothing is half done.
• During Durga Puja the roads towards Sanhauli Durgasthan get busy with visitors. A morning slot is easier in that week.

What is included

The balloons, backdrop and props shown on the design page, and setup at your place by the decorator. Cake, snacks and the venue stay with you unless the design says otherwise.
