A welcome home for a brother back from work

Say your younger brother is coming home to Prem Nagar after his first year at a job in Bengaluru, and the family wants the front room to look festive when he walks in. His train reaches Supaul station in the evening. You book a plain balloon design for a 4 PM slot, your mother lets the decorator in, and by the time his auto turns in from Station Road the room is full of colour. Nobody has to spend the afternoon puffing and tying balloons.

Balloon planning tips for Supaul homes

• After several days of steady rain, Gandhi Maidan has been known to turn into a lake. If you live near it, tell the decorator which approach road is dry.
• Summer afternoons in town can be fierce, and the recorded high is 43 °C. Balloons keep their shape better out of direct sun, so keep a courtyard setup for the evening.
• For an arch on the main door, measure the doorway and compare it with the photo on the design page before you book.
• If you rent a hall, ask the manager what time you may enter and whether tape is allowed on the walls.

What is included

Everything the design page lists, such as the balloons, a stand or backdrop and any props, along with the decorator's time to put it all up. Food, cake and the venue stay with you.
