Coming home from the hospital in Mayaganj

Picture a couple bringing their daughter home from a hospital in Mayaganj to the family house in Khanjarpur. The discharge is expected around noon, so her grandfather books a 2 PM slot from the hospital corridor. When the car pulls up, pink balloons frame the front door and the bedroom is ready for her. The grandmother does the aarti at the door, and the baby sleeps through all of it.

Welcoming a newborn in Bhagalpur: practical tips

• Hospital discharge times shift. Book a slot about two hours after the expected discharge, and remember same-day slots start two hours after booking.
• Ask the decorator to keep balloons and foil away from the cot. A newborn's room should stay calm and easy to clean.
• Keep the first-day setup simple if the chhathi (sixth-day ceremony) is coming up. You can add more for that day.
• For an annaprashan, choose a morning slot so the decoration is ready before the puja and the family meal.

What is included

The design page lists each item, and the decorator sets it up at your home before you arrive. Food, puja items and anything for the baby are arranged by the family.
