People often ask which is better, and the answer depends on what you want the balloons to do. Helium balloons float, which is what makes a ceiling setup possible and what gives a bouquet its lift. But latex helium balloons are at their best for about a day; after that they slowly lose height. Air-filled balloons don't float, but they hold their shape for several days indoors, which is why garlands, arches, walls and columns are built with air.
