Picture a family in Kirti Nagar, close to College Chowk, whose daughter has just passed her final-year exams with a first division. Relatives want to come over the same evening. At 2 PM her father books a balloon design for the 5 PM slot, and the decorator does up the front room. Getting balloons right in Madhepura

• News reports say lanes in Laxmipur, Post Office Gali and Karpuri Nagar fill with water after even light rain. If that is your area, tell the decorator which side of the house to come from.
• In Saavan, crowds head for Singheshwar Sthan, about 6 km out, above all on Sundays and Mondays. Roads that way can be slow, so give your slot some breathing room.
• For a gate arch, compare your gate's width with the photo on the design page before you pay.
• Ask the hall manager what time you may enter before you pick a slot.

What is included

The balloons and any stand or props that the design page names, plus the decorator's time to put them up. Snacks, cake and the hall are on your list.
