Say your parents in Paschim Pali turn thirty

Picture your parents' thirtieth anniversary at the family home in Paschim Pali. Your grandmother, who still speaks Surjapuri at home, takes them out to visit an old friend on Bhagat Toli Road. In that hour the decorator fills the drawing room with a ring backdrop and gold balloons. When they return, the whole family is waiting, and your grandmother gives her blessing before anyone is allowed near the sweets.

Anniversary tips for Kishanganj couples

• Many weddings in Bihar happen in the winter months, so anniversary dates bunch up then. Book a few days early for a November to February date.
• If the couple lives with parents and children, a morning slot while they are at the temple or the market is easier to keep secret.
• For a hotel room surprise, ask the hotel in advance whether a decorator can enter the room, and give the room number when you book.
• Point the decorator to Caltex Chowk, Gandhi Chowk or the Sadar Hospital first, then guide them to your gate on the phone.

What is included

The decoration listed on the design page and the decorator's setup in your room or hall. Dinner, cake and any gift are arranged by you.
