A jungle party after a trip to Valmiki

Imagine your daughter is turning seven, and since a family trip to Valmiki Tiger Reserve, up in West Champaran, she has talked about nothing but tigers. You book a jungle safari design for a 1 PM slot at your home in Mahavat Toli, with the party starting at four. The decorator sets up the safari backdrop and animal props in the hall, and her friends spend the first half-hour pointing out which animals they saw on their own trips.

Kids party tips for Bettiah families

• Leave about three hours between the slot and the party, so the room is ready before guests and their parents start arriving.
• Midday in May is very hot in Bettiah. A party after five in a room with a fan or AC keeps the children and the balloons comfortable.
• If you book a hall or a hotel banquet room, ask that the wall behind the cake table is kept clear for the backdrop.
• A theme cake and return gifts in matching colours make the setup feel complete; you arrange those yourself.

What is included

The theme backdrop, balloons and character props shown on the design page, set up by the decorator at your venue. Cake, return gifts and food are not part of the price.
