Twin girls and one big decision

Picture twin girls turning six in a house near Ganga Sagar. One wants a mermaid, the other wants butterflies, and after a long family debate they settle on butterflies with a mermaid cake. You book the Saturday 4 PM slot, and the decorator has the wall ready while their school friends are still on the way. The first photo is the two of them in front of the backdrop, already arguing about who blows out the candles.

Tips for a theme party in Madhubani

• Want photos with Mithila art too? The walls at Madhubani railway station were painted by local artists. Visit with the birthday child that morning and keep the decoration slot for the afternoon.
• If school friends come from across town, from Bhauara to Rahika, pick a slot an hour or two before the party starts.
• Monsoon months bring most of the year's rain here, so plan the party in a room, not on the roof or in the courtyard.
• Keep toddlers away from loose balloons and small props once the setup is done.

What is included

The themed backdrop, balloons and character props listed for that design, set up at your home or hall. Cake, return gifts and snacks are yours to arrange.
