In Delhi, anniversaries come in two sizes: intimate and enormous. For many young couples, it's a romantic room waiting at home after a long day at work, or a night at a hotel in Aerocity with the city lights outside. For their parents, a silver or golden jubilee often means a banquet in Punjabi Bagh or Kirti Nagar, a DJ, a hundred guests and a cake with three tiers. Funtook's anniversary decoration in Delhi handles both, from a bedroom full of heart balloons to a jubilee backdrop that frames the couple for the family portrait.
Anniversary designs cost ₹1,699 to ₹4,999. Every design page lists the balloons, lights, props and banner, so you know what to expect. Choose a design, a date and a time slot, and our decorators set it up at your home, hotel room or venue.
Red and white or rose-gold balloons on the ceiling, heart foils, fairy lights and a message on the wall. The Simple Anniversary Heart Setup (₹2,199), the Romantic Room Decoration (₹2,399) and the Love Anniversary Room Decor (₹2,299) are made for the bedroom. For a first anniversary, the 1st Anniversary Room Decor (₹2,399) adds a big "1".
Delhi has hotels for every taste, from Aerocity near the airport to Connaught Place and the South Delhi districts. A night away with a decorated room is a popular gift. Ask the hotel first whether outside decorators may enter, keep the booking in your name and choose a compact design such as the Romantic Love Decoration at Home or Hotel Room (₹2,599).
For a Saturday party at home or on a rooftop, an arch around a backdrop gives everyone a place for photos. See the Classic Anniversary Arch Decor (₹2,499) and the Arch Anniversary Setup Decoration (₹2,599).
Silver, ruby and golden anniversaries in Delhi are family events, and the backdrop becomes the stage for the portrait everyone will frame. Our three ring designs, Forever Love Decor at ₹3,999, Better Together Ring Decor at ₹4,500 and Delight Anniversary Decoration at ₹4,999, work in a kothi's drawing room, on a rooftop or in a compact banquet room.

In Delhi, Karwa Chauth, which usually falls in October or November, is one of the most romantic evenings of the year. Wives fast from sunrise until the moon rises, and many husbands mark the evening with a surprise: a room decorated in red and gold, ready for when the fast is broken. It's also one of the busiest evenings of the year for decorators, so book several days ahead, and choose an afternoon slot so the room is ready well before moonrise. A heart setup or romantic room works perfectly; tell us it's for Karwa Chauth so the banner reads right and the colours suit the occasion.
A surprise works best when someone at home is in on it: a parent, a sibling, a flatmate or even the building's guard. In builder floors, tell us the floor and whether there's a lift, and where the decorator can park briefly. In societies in Dwarka, Vasant Kunj or Mayur Vihar, register the decorator at the gate. Delhi's evening traffic is unpredictable, so choose a slot that finishes well before your partner is due home. Keep a socket free for the fairy lights and switch off the ceiling fan once the balloons go up.
Many jubilee bookings in Delhi come from children, sometimes living in Gurugram or Noida, sometimes abroad, planning for parents in Pitampura, Janakpuri, Lajpat Nagar or Mayur Vihar. The usual plan: recruit a local cousin or neighbour to let the decorator in while your parents are out, choose ivory and gold or maroon and gold, put the sofa in front of the backdrop, print a board with both names and the years, and have the helper video-call you as your parents open the door. For a big banquet celebration, share the venue manager's number and confirm our entry time.
Delhi's summer, from late April to June, is fierce; celebrate indoors with the AC on well before the reveal and the balloons away from any sun-baked glass. July to September brings muggy air and sudden cloudbursts, so rooftop plans need cover. October and November bring the festive season and, on some days, poor air quality; indoor celebrations are kinder then. December and January are cold and foggy, lovely for a cosy evening indoors or an afternoon on the terrace. February, with its milder days and Valentine's week, is a favourite for anniversaries, and the wedding season makes decorators busy, so book early.
Delhi's large Punjabi community celebrates anniversaries with gusto. A twenty-fifth or fiftieth is often a full party: relatives from across the city, a DJ, bhangra, a buffet, a cake-cutting and speeches from the children and grandchildren. The couple may renew their garlands or exchange rings again. For these, the backdrop sits on a stage or against the longest wall of the hall, with a sofa for the couple, a clear area in front for the cake, and plenty of room for the dance floor away from it. Gold and maroon, or silver and white for a silver jubilee, suit the mood. If the party is in a banquet hall in Punjabi Bagh, Rajouri Garden or Kirti Nagar, confirm our entry time with the manager.
Bengali couples in CR Park might celebrate with a special meal and a visit to the Kali Mandir. Many South Indian families in RK Puram or Mayur Vihar mark the day with a temple visit in the morning. Christian couples may attend a thanksgiving service. Muslim families in the old city often host a dawat. And many couples, of every background, simply want a quiet evening, a romantic room and dinner for two. The decoration adapts to all of these; just tell us how the day will go.
A slot that ends too close to your partner's arrival leaves no margin for Delhi traffic. A running ceiling fan tangles helium balloons. A society guard who wasn't told holds the decorator at the gate. A large arch in a small builder-floor bedroom leaves no room to walk. And a hotel that doesn't allow outside decorators stops the plan at reception. Sort these out in advance and the evening takes care of itself.
If your anniversary falls between November and February, a rooftop celebration is one of Delhi's pleasures. Book the setup for the late afternoon so it's finished before sunset, ask for warm tones and plenty of fairy lights, lay out rugs and cushions, and keep blankets and a heater nearby, placed well away from the balloons. On foggy January nights, bring the party indoors after an hour or so. On days when the air is poor, it's better to celebrate inside altogether; the same design works just as well in the living room.
Newlyweds often celebrate twice, a family lunch with both sets of parents and a private evening, so a setup that works for both is ideal. Young parents do best with an afternoon living-room setup while the baby naps, leaving out loose petals and small props. Around ten or fifteen years, many couples throw a party for friends. Couples whose children have left for college or work are often surprised by those children from a distance. And jubilees bring the whole family together, sometimes with relatives flying in from Canada, the UK or Australia.
A bedroom in a builder floor or DDA flat suits a romantic room setup. A living room of about 12 by 15 feet takes a half arch with a small table in front. A kothi drawing room or a rooftop can carry a full ring backdrop with a sofa. Measure the wall if you're unsure: a ring backdrop needs about 8 feet, an arch 8 to 10.
Photograph the decorated room before your partner sees it. Film the moment the door opens, standing to one side so both the room and their face are in frame. For a jubilee, build the portrait in layers: the couple on the sofa, then the children, then the grandchildren. Switch off harsh tube lights and let the fairy lights do the work.
Anniversaries aren't the only romantic occasions Delhi couples decorate for. Valentine's week in February is the busiest stretch of the year for romantic room setups, followed closely by Karwa Chauth. Couples also mark a partner's return from a long work trip, a promotion, a proposal anniversary or simply the first time they move into a home of their own. The same designs work for all of these; tell us the occasion so the banner reads right, and book early for February.
For a couple's anniversary at home, the decoration, a cake from a favourite bakery and dinner, ordered in or out, are usually the three main costs. A romantic room in the ₹2,199 to ₹2,599 range is the sweet spot for most couples. For a jubilee party, the venue and catering dominate, and the decoration is best sized to the room: a ring backdrop for a drawing room, a fuller setup for a banquet hall.
We decorate across Delhi: South Delhi from Saket, Hauz Khas and Greater Kailash to Vasant Kunj and Chhatarpur; Central Delhi including Connaught Place, Karol Bagh and Rajinder Nagar; West Delhi including Rajouri Garden, Punjabi Bagh, Janakpuri and Dwarka; North Delhi including Model Town, Pitampura and Rohini; and East Delhi including Mayur Vihar, Preet Vihar and Laxmi Nagar. Add a landmark with your address, since Delhi's colony blocks and pocket numbers can be confusing to find.
With the reveal done, plan the rest of the night around what you both enjoy. Some couples drive past India Gate and Kartavya Path when the lights are on, others walk around the lake at Hauz Khas or through Lodhi Garden, and many head to a favourite restaurant in Connaught Place, Khan Market or Hauz Khas Village. Staying home? Get the food ordered well before the reveal, and set a little table for two among the balloons.
Red and white with heart foils is the classic. Rose gold and white feel soft and modern. Gold and black suit an evening party. For a jubilee, ivory and gold or silver and white. Printed photographs from the wedding album pegged along a wall always get people talking, especially the ones with dated hairstyles and big smiles. Names and years on printed boards are made to order and can't be refunded, so check both spellings.
You'll get a call to confirm the address, access and the room. The decorator arrives at the start of your slot with everything. A romantic room takes about ninety minutes; an arch or ring backdrop about two hours. Read the names once more before they leave, and keep the heart foils afterwards as a keepsake.
For a partner's birthday, see birthday decoration in Delhi and its room surprise designs. For a reveal in the car, car boot decoration in Delhi. To send balloons to your parents' door, a balloon bouquet in Delhi. Expecting a baby? Baby shower decoration in Delhi. Every balloon arch and garland we make is on balloon decoration in Delhi, and every service is on the Funtook Delhi page.
