Nobody throws a first birthday quite like Delhi. In the banquet halls of Kirti Nagar, Punjabi Bagh and Rajouri Garden, on the lawns of Chhatarpur farmhouses and in community centres across the city, a child's birthday can bring together two hundred guests, a DJ, a dance floor, live food counters and a stage where the baby is presented like royalty. At that scale, the decoration isn't a detail; it's the set on which the whole evening is filmed.
That's the job of our birthday party organiser packages in Delhi: the most elaborate theme sets we build, priced between ₹8,999 and ₹24,999. Each theme's page itemises its contents, so choosing between, say, dinosaurs and Frozen is a matter of comparing two lists. Once booked, our crew arrives at the hall or farmhouse and has the set standing well before guests do.
| Venue | Strengths | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Banquet hall (West Delhi, Pitampura, East Delhi) | Air-conditioned, catering, parking or valet | Back-to-back bookings; confirm setup time |
| Farmhouse (Chhatarpur, Sainik Farms, the city's edges) | Space, lawns, privacy | Winter cold and fog, wind, distance for guests |
| Community centre or RWA hall | Affordable, close to home | Basic lighting; strict clean-up times |
| Society clubhouse (Dwarka, Vasant Kunj, Mayur Vihar) | Familiar for residents' children | Size limits; decoration rules |
| Hotel function room | Polished, all-inclusive | Rules on outside decorators; fixed timings |
Whichever you choose, ask the venue what time our team can enter, how long you have the space, and whether nails, tape and helium are permitted.
For a baby's first birthday, soft themes photograph best: the Baby Elephant Birthday Decor (₹8,999), the Premium Jungle Safari Decoration (₹15,999), the Purple Butterfly Birthday Decor (₹16,999) or the grand Boss Baby Theme Party Decoration (₹23,999).
For toddlers, the Peppa Pig and Hello Kitty packages (₹16,999 each).
For school-age children, the Superhero Theme Birthday Decoration (₹13,999), the Car Theme Birthday Decor (₹17,999), the Dinosaur Theme Birthday Decoration (₹18,999), Frozen and Rainbow (₹19,999 each), and the Jungle Theme Party Decorations (₹19,500).
For the biggest halls, the Premium Butterfly Theme Birthday Decoration (₹18,500) and our largest, the Mermaid Themed Birthday Party Decorations (₹24,999).

Up to about thirty guests at home, a design from kids theme decoration in Delhi, from ₹1,399, is plenty. For fifty to eighty in a community centre or clubhouse, a large theme backdrop or one of the smaller packages works. For a hundred or more in a banquet hall or on a farmhouse lawn, a package gives the stage the scale it needs.
A first birthday in Delhi, especially in Punjabi families, often starts at a gurdwara or temple in the morning and ends with a full party at night: a DJ, a dance floor, a photo booth, live counters and a stage where the parents stand with the baby while guests come up with blessings and gifts. Plan the stage around the baby: a comfortable sofa for the parents, the name and a big "1" at the centre, soft colours, and a quiet room close by for feeds and naps. Cut the cake before the dance floor opens, while the baby is still awake and the grandparents still fresh. And coordinate lighting with the photographer and videographer before the guests arrive.
For five- to ten-year-olds, the party is about friends and fun. Put the backdrop at one end and keep the games, the magician or the tattoo artist at the other. Keep the children's part to about two hours, with the cake an hour in. Parents appreciate a clear end time on the invitation, and children leave happiest when the party ends on a high.
A farmhouse lawn in Chhatarpur on a December afternoon is a wonderful venue, with space for a bouncy castle, a stage and a long buffet. By evening, though, Delhi's cold and fog roll in. Start earlier, place the set on a covered stage or back it against a boundary wall, because open-lawn gusts push balloons around, arrange heaters for guests, placed well away from the decoration, and keep a warm indoor room for the baby. Share a map pin and the caretaker's number with us, and allow extra travel time.
Summer parties belong in air-conditioned halls with an evening start. The monsoon rules out lawns. In late October and November, when air quality can be poor, choose indoor venues. Winter is peak season, competing with the wedding calendar for halls and farmhouses, so book months ahead. Remember that loudspeakers in residential areas generally have to stop by 10 pm; banquet halls have their own rules, so check before planning a late dance floor.
Look at the package page to see what's included; most Delhi parents add extras separately. Popular choices are a magician or puppeteer for the four-to-seven crowd, a tattoo or caricature artist and a games host for older children, a bouncy castle on a farmhouse lawn, a photo booth with props, and for first birthdays, an anchor who keeps the evening moving. Tell us where each will be, so the backdrop and stage stay clear of the play areas.
Delhi party buffets are famous, with chaat counters, tandoor, pasta stations and a dessert spread. Children, though, need their own small counter with quick food, served early. Keep the food zones away from the stage so waiters don't wander into the portraits, and position the kulfi or ice-cream counter near the exit, where children can grab a treat with their return gift.
Match return gifts to the theme: small animals for jungle and dinosaur parties, glittery pouches and hair clips for Frozen, mermaid and Hello Kitty, capes for superheroes, toy cars for a car theme. For a first birthday, many Delhi families give a box of mithai or dry fruits to adult guests, with small toys for the children. Sadar Bazar and the wholesale markets of Old Delhi are the classic places to buy in bulk.
Joint celebrations are common in Delhi's large families. Choose a theme both children enjoy; rainbow, jungle and cars cross ages and genders. Ask for both names on the board, and give each child a moment on stage with the cake.
For a hundred-plus guests, the venue and food take most of the budget, followed by the DJ, decoration, photography and return gifts. Size the package to the room: a small set in a big banquet hall looks sparse, and an enormous one in a community centre feels cramped. Call us with the hall's dimensions if you'd like a recommendation.
Share the design with your photographer and videographer in advance. Ask for shots of the empty set before guests arrive, a family portrait on stage straight after the cake, a few quiet close-ups of the baby without flash, and a final group photo of the children with their return gifts.
A Delhi party with a hundred and fifty guests means a lot of cars. Banquet halls usually offer valet parking; community centres and farmhouses may not, so plan where cars will go and consider a valet service or a few volunteers with torches for a farmhouse. Put the invitation time a little later than you'd like to start, since Delhi traffic delays everyone, and keep the first half-hour for welcome drinks and photographs at the entrance. Seat elders close to the stage, where they can see the cake-cutting and join the family portrait without standing for long.
Many Delhi first birthdays are timed for when grandparents, aunts or uncles are visiting from Canada, the UK or Australia, often in the winter holidays. Plan around their jet lag, keep a quiet space for them to rest, and make sure the photographer captures them with the baby on stage. For those who can't travel, a live stream on a phone mounted near the stage lets them watch the cake-cutting.
Booking the decoration before the venue, allowing too little setup time at a hall with a lunch function, putting the stage against a glass wall that reflects every light, crowding the floor so children have nowhere to play, and forgetting that a winter farmhouse gets cold and foggy by seven. Each is easy to avoid with a little planning.
At a Delhi first birthday, the theme is for the adults as much as the baby, since the photographs and videos will be shared with relatives across the world. Soft, elegant themes like the baby elephant or pastel butterfly look lovely on a banquet stage under warm lights. Boss Baby is a crowd favourite because guests enjoy the playful "office" styling. For older children, let them choose; their excitement when they see their favourite dinosaur or superhero on stage is the best photograph of the evening. If siblings disagree, neutral themes such as rainbow or jungle usually keep the peace.
Delhi's community centres, many run by the local authority or the colony's RWA, are an affordable alternative to banquet halls, with space for a hundred guests close to home. They can be plain, with basic lighting and bare walls, which is exactly where a package makes the biggest difference. Check the booking hours carefully; many require the hall to be cleared by a fixed time, so plan the setup, the party and the take-down within that window. Bring extra lighting if the hall is dim; warm uplights on the backdrop transform the photographs.
Some families prefer a hotel for convenience, with catering, service and parking all handled. Hotels often have rules about outside decorators and fixed setup windows, so check with the events team before booking a package, and share their contact with us so our crew can coordinate directly on the day.
When the last guest leaves, there's usually a rush to clear the hall. Assign two or three reliable relatives to pack the foil balloons, the name board and any props you want to keep, and to collect the gifts with a list of who gave what. Latex balloons can be popped and bagged for dry waste. The name board and the big number foil make lovely decorations for the baby's room, or keepsakes for the album and the years ahead.
Six weeks: fix the date and venue. Five: choose the theme and reserve the package. Four: book the caterer, cake, photographer, DJ and entertainers. Three: send invitations. Two: buy return gifts, perhaps from Sadar Bazar. One: reconfirm the venue's entry time with the manager and with us, and send the name and age for the board. On the day: the setup takes several hours, so book a slot that ends an hour before guests arrive.
Send us the venue's location and the manager's mobile, what time we may enter, the name and age spelt exactly (the board is printed for you and isn't refundable), the venue's rules, a rough layout of the stage, dance floor and buffet, and a family member on site during the setup.
For smaller parties, see birthday decoration in Delhi and the kids special range. All balloon designs are on balloon decoration in Delhi. Family abroad or out of town can still send a balloon bouquet in Delhi, and for the baby's earlier milestones, including the first Lohri, see newborn welcome decoration in Delhi.
